What is MyPlainPhone?

What is Plain Mode?

Plain Mode is the app's simpler phone mode. It keeps selected essentials visible and makes leaving that setup more intentional when exit friction or related controls are enabled.

Does it require a login?

No. MyPlainPhone is designed to work without a user account, username, password, or custom login system.

Does it work without a backend?

Yes. The app is designed without a custom MyPlainPhone backend. Your app preferences are stored locally on your device. Purchases and subscriptions, if offered, are handled through Google Play Billing and RevenueCat. App analytics and crash reporting may be handled through Firebase.

Does it collect my personal data?

MyPlainPhone does not use ads, does not sell personal data, and does not require an account. App settings are intended to stay on your device. Purchase-related information may be processed by Google Play and RevenueCat, and limited app usage and crash data may be processed by Firebase so analytics and crash reporting can work.

Does it block notifications?

MyPlainPhone focuses on the home screen and app access flow. It is not a full notification blocker. Android and individual apps still control notifications unless you change system settings such as Do Not Disturb or notification permissions.

Does it require accessibility access?

Only some optional features, such as Strict Mode or app redirection, may request Android Accessibility permission. The core simpler home screen can work without enabling accessibility access.

Is accessibility access optional?

Yes. Accessibility access is optional and should only be enabled if you want features that need it. When used, it is intended to detect app changes for redirection or Strict Mode behavior, not to read messages, passwords, or private content.

How do subscriptions work?

Subscriptions or purchases are handled by Google Play Billing, with RevenueCat used to manage purchase status and entitlements. You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Google Play account.

Overview

MyPlainPhone is an Android app that helps users create a simpler phone experience by setting a cleaner home screen, choosing essential apps, and optionally using Plain Mode controls. The app is designed without user accounts, ads, a custom backend, or a MyPlainPhone login system.

Information we do not collect

MyPlainPhone does not require you to create an account. We do not ask for a name, username, password, profile photo, contact list, precise location, messages, or browsing history as part of the core app experience. We do not sell personal data.

Information stored locally on your device

The app may store settings locally on your Android device, such as your selected essential apps, Plain Mode preferences, schedule settings, onboarding choices, and related configuration. Local settings are used to make the app function on your device and are not sent to a custom MyPlainPhone backend.

App analytics and crash reporting

MyPlainPhone may use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, services provided by Google, to understand general app usage, diagnose crashes, improve reliability, and prioritize fixes. These services may process limited technical and usage information such as app-instance identifiers, app lifecycle events, coarse location derived from masked IP addresses, in-app purchase or subscription events, Android Advertising ID if collection is not disabled in the app configuration, device and app metadata, crash stack traces, relevant app state at the time of a crash, and Crashlytics installation identifiers.

Crash reports may also include developer-defined diagnostic details if they are added by the app. MyPlainPhone is not intended to send your selected essential apps, private messages, passwords, payment card details, contact list, or precise location to Firebase. Firebase data is used for analytics and crash reporting, not for selling personal data or serving ads in MyPlainPhone.

Subscriptions and purchases

If MyPlainPhone offers subscriptions or purchases, billing is handled through Google Play Billing. The app may use RevenueCat to manage purchase status, subscription entitlements, renewal state, and related purchase metadata. Google Play and RevenueCat may process information needed to complete purchases, verify entitlements, prevent fraud, and provide subscription management. MyPlainPhone does not receive full payment card details.

Optional accessibility permission

Some optional features, such as Strict Mode or app redirection, may request Android Accessibility permission. When enabled, this permission is intended to detect app changes or foreground app activity so the app can redirect access according to your selected settings. MyPlainPhone is not intended to use accessibility access to read private messages, passwords, payment details, or the contents of unrelated apps.

Accessibility permission is optional. You can choose not to enable it, and you can turn it off later in Android system settings. Some Strict Mode or redirection features may not work without it.

Support emails

If you contact support by email, we may receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address, device model, Android version, app version, screenshots, and issue description. Support information is used to respond to your request and improve the app.

Children's privacy

MyPlainPhone is not directed to children and does not intentionally collect children's personal data. If you believe a child has provided personal data through a support email, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Data sharing

We may share limited information with service providers when needed to operate the app, such as Google Play Billing, RevenueCat, Firebase, email providers, and app store services. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer.

Your choices and rights

You can change app settings in the app, remove locally stored data by uninstalling the app or clearing app data, manage subscriptions through Google Play, and disable optional Android permissions in system settings. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of certain personal information. Contact us to make a request.

Security

We use practical safeguards appropriate for a small utility app, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your device, Google account, and email account secure.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled under Google Play policies where applicable. MyPlainPhone does not control every refund decision made through Google Play. You can review and manage purchases through your Google Play account.

Optional permissions
